In Spring of 2022, something didn’t feel quite right with my knees. I noticed that they were puffy and aching a lot at the end of the day. I had always loved walking and recently increased my step count. Then I woke up one morning and found myself barely able to walk. Something was seriously wrong..
I arranged to see a consultant at a local private hospital and was diagnosed with hoffa’s fat pad syndrome in both knees. The hospital consultant referred me to physio which I subsequently attended. No matter how much physio I had at my local hospital, nothing improved that I felt that things were actually getting a lot worse. The condition was worsening and I was in quite a lot of pain on a daily basis. I had become housebound and in my desperation in the middle of the night, I searched for knee specialists in London online. This is where I struck gold as Claire’s name came up.
I then listened to a podcast by Claire online and realised that she was the person that could help me. After getting in touch with the clinic, I made an appointment to see Claire and we came up with a plan to tackle the issue. The journey was not smooth and there were major ups and downs. Due to the inflammation and finding Claire at quite a late stage, my knees had tipped over into a position where I was suffering from neuropathic pain. The pain was absolutely unbearable but Claire assured me that we would get through this together. Alongside my physio programme with Claire, I was also given treatment for the neuropathic pain in the same clinic.
Although I had some dark days where the pain was unbearable and I was losing hope, Claire constantly reassured me that I was going to get through this and that everything was going to be fine in the end. I was determined and chose not to give up, sticking to every word of Claire’s instructions and persevering with the physio programme she had given me. Gradually as time went on, I started walking and the pain started subsiding. Claire also recommended that I undertake acupuncture to help within the neuropathic pain and this indeed made an enormous difference.
I’ll be honest.. The road was a long one and it this was not easy to overcome. But here I am today in 2024, completely free from the condition with healthy knees. I now walk, run and jump as much as I like, and attend the gym regularly. I feel no pain whatsoever in my knees. I simply cannot thank Claire enough and I dread to think what would have happened if I had not found her. I am now able to live my daily life, without even giving a second thought to my knees.
In fact I attended a party a several weeks ago and at the age of 44, I danced all night long. The following day my friend even commented that I have the dance moves of a 20 year old!
All I can say to those who are suffering in the position that I was in, is that you are in safe hands with Claire. Listen to her guidance and please stay positive. Just like me, you can overcome it. As a result of my experience, I not only appreciate life much more than before, but I have found myself becoming a lover of exercise and the gym. It’s amazing how sometimes a painful situation can turn into something so positive! You just have to believe that you will get through it. Thank you Claire for all that you have done in helping me on my journey. There are no words to express how grateful I am. FS
